The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is seeking applications from eligible applicants to operate and administer Esports programs in Texas. The purpose of the Esports initiative is to encourage interest in STEM careers such as computer programming, coding, computer science, and software design by expanding statewide participation in Esports programs for youth ages fourteen to twenty-one. This initiative aims to develop new teams for Esports education competitions. Eligible applicants are expected to submit applications that detail how they will implement and manage these programs effectively. The funding will support the creation and expansion of Esports teams and competitions, focusing on educational outcomes and career readiness in STEM fields.
