Description

The CitizensNYC Community Leaders Grant for 2025 provides up to $5,000 in funding for grassroots groups, small nonprofits, volunteer-led initiatives, and public schools working to strengthen communities across New York City’s five boroughs. Grants support local projects that foster civic engagement and address community needs in areas such as arts and culture, health and wellness, economic development, education, environment, and public safety. Applicants do not need nonprofit status to apply, and volunteer-based initiatives are eligible. Projects must serve local neighborhoods, engage community members, and fall under the umbrella of civic engagement.

Applications must be submitted online by February 7, 2025. Proposals will be evaluated based on alignment with CitizensNYC’s mission, the project’s ability to engage residents, and its potential impact on the community.
