Description
The OSS Joint Solid Waste District Grant Program aims to support projects that enhance recycling, composting, and waste reduction within the Ottawa-Sandusky-Seneca District. Eligible applicants include educational institutions, local governments, and non-profit organizations. Projects must align with the District’s solid waste management plan and incorporate at least 25% recycled content in products used. Grants are capped at $10,000 with a requirement for a 25% match from applicants. Funded projects can include educational programs, yard waste management, recycling initiatives, and the purchase of recycled products. Applications are judged based on their adherence to District goals, quality, and potential for public education.
Funding notifications are typically issued 30 to 60 days post-application deadline, with two funding rounds per year. Projects must be completed within 12 months of receiving the award letter. Records of all expenses must be maintained, and applicants can choose between direct vendor invoicing or reimbursement after project completion.
