This funding opportunity supports projects in Virginia that tackle health inequities by fostering community engagement and collaboration to address systemic barriers and social determinants of health.
Description
The 2025 Jeffress Trust Awards Program, funded by the Thomas F. and Kate Miller Jeffress Memorial Trust and managed by Bank of America, supports initiatives that address systemic barriers and root causes of health inequities in Virginia. The program offers two distinct funding opportunities: Partnership/Collaborative Establishment Awards, providing up to $150,000 over two years, and Research Awards, which offer $600,000 over three years and are available exclusively to previous recipients of the Partnership/Collaborative Awards. The program emphasizes community engagement, collaboration, and advancing actionable research to promote health equity in the state.
Eligible projects include policy, systems, and environmental change strategies, program or practice analysis, and research focusing on social determinants of health. Proposals must outline how community members are authentically engaged in leadership and design. Funding does not support clinical trials, capital expenses, or projects led by individuals or for-profit entities. Applications are due by February 5, 2025, with funding decisions announced in the summer of 2025.
