Community Wildfire Protection Plan Grants (CWPPs)
This funding opportunity provides financial assistance to New Jersey municipalities and communities for implementing wildfire hazard mitigation practices outlined in their approved Community Wildfire Protection Plans.
Description
The Community Wildfire Protection Plan Grants (CWPPs) provide municipalities and communities with cost-share incentives to implement wildfire hazard mitigation practices as prescribed in a Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP). Eligible applicants include NJ municipalities and communities within municipalities that have approved and adopted a CWPP. Funding is limited to half of the project cost, up to $5,000. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and applicants will be notified within 30 days of receipt of an application. The source of funding is the USDA Forest Service through the National Fire Plan. Training is provided in-house on a case-by-case basis and through Firewise USA and NFPA.
