CFNN Nevada Dream Tags Charitable Fund
This funding opportunity provides financial support to nonprofit organizations and government entities for wildlife conservation projects that restore and protect habitats in Nevada.
Description
The Nevada Dream Tags Charitable Fund, managed by the Community Foundation of Northern Nevada, provides funding to support wildlife conservation efforts across Nevada. Proposals are accepted year-round, with the deadline for non-emergency proposals set for noon on Friday, January 31, 2025. Emergency funding requests may be submitted at any time using a separate Emergency Request for Proposal form. All grants require approval from the Advisory Board on Dream Tags and the Community Foundation’s Board of Trustees.
This fund focuses on restoring resilience in at-risk habitats and ensuring the preservation, protection, management, or restoration of Nevada’s big game, other wildlife, and their habitats. Proposals must demonstrate measurable outcomes and align with this mission. Grants are typically paid on a reimbursable basis for actual expenditures, and funding is not available for work performed prior to grant approval.
Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, nonprofit educational institutions, and governmental entities. Projects must be conducted within Nevada and adhere to specific grantee requirements. These include using funds solely for charitable purposes, complying with public benefit standards, providing financial reports upon request, and refraining from political contributions or advocacy. Grantees must implement projects as outlined in their agreements and submit quarterly progress reports to the Community Foundation.
Proposals are evaluated based on several criteria, including measurable outcomes that align with the fund’s goals, the ability to monitor and report on accomplishments, and a clear focus on habitat improvements. Other considerations include readiness to execute the project, opportunities for partnerships to maximize impact, alignment with the fund’s operational requirements, and the absence of negative or unintended consequences. Proposals that address known issues through effective solutions are given priority.
To apply, eligible organizations must use the Community Foundation’s online grant management system. Applicants should ensure that their organization is registered in the system, and if assistance is needed, they can contact the foundation for support. For more information or to begin the application process, prospective applicants are encouraged to visit the Community Foundation’s website or contact the program administrator.
This funding opportunity supports critical conservation efforts, making it ideal for organizations dedicated to safeguarding Nevada’s wildlife and their habitats. Applicants are advised to review all requirements carefully and prepare comprehensive proposals that meet the fund’s objectives.
