Description
The Dr. Bernard J. DuBray STEAM Grant for Fine Arts Educators provides up to $1,000 in funding to support K-12 Fine Arts teachers in St. Charles County, Missouri. The grant aims to integrate technology into Fine Arts curricula, fostering innovation and laying the groundwork for future careers in STEAM fields. Eligible educators teach art, band, choir, music, orchestra, or theatre at public and private schools in the region.
Proposals should emphasize using technology to enhance classroom experiences and student engagement. Examples of eligible projects include adaptive technologies for diverse learners, audio/visual equipment to improve performances or teaching, and innovative software for music composition or graphic arts. Projects must align with STEAM principles and propose creative, practical activities that can be easily implemented in classrooms.
Applications should include a clear explanation of how the funding will be utilized, focusing on materials not currently included in the teacher’s budget or curriculum. Priority will be given to projects that have long-term benefits, such as reusable materials that can be used in multiple classes or across grades in subsequent years. If a project exceeds the $1,000 funding limit, applicants must explain how additional costs will be covered.
The selection process is overseen by the EDC's STEM Education Committee, supported by a subcommittee of Fine Arts educators. Applications, including a basic budget, are due by 5:00 pm on Friday, January 31, 2025.
