The Texas Capital Foundation Honors Awards program offers a competitive grant process to fund organizations addressing critical community needs. Grants of $50,000 each will be awarded under the pillars of Live, Learn, and Lift, focusing on mental health and chronic disease prevention for children, STEAM education for teens, and mentorship and prevention programs for youth, respectively. Additionally, the STAR Award, valued at $100,000, supports initiatives benefiting military and veteran families.

Eligibility is limited to nonprofit organizations with tax-exempt status under sections 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code. Applicants must serve low- to moderate-income communities within Texas Capital’s service areas—Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, Houston, and San Antonio—and have a minimum three-year performance record for the programs proposed. Required application materials include financial statements, a list of board members, and an organizational chart. Awardees must submit an Impact Statement after the grant year to outline the outcomes achieved.

The application period opens on November 1, 2024, and closes on January 3, 2025. Following a review process, twelve finalists will be announced on February 21, 2025, and will present their proposals on Pitch Day, scheduled for March 21, 2025. Final recipients will be announced on May 5, 2025.

Ineligible applicants include individuals, for-profit companies, municipalities, membership-based organizations, and groups engaging in political advocacy or controversial causes. Funding is also not available for ticketed events like galas, luncheons, or golf tournaments, or for organizations that do not primarily benefit low- to moderate-income communities.

This program targets organizations with innovative and proven approaches to addressing pressing community challenges. Applicants should ensure their programs align with the designated pillars and clearly articulate their impact potential.
