The Moody Foundation’s Education M-Pact Fund is an annual grant program designed to support student success in Texas through two strategic pillars: Early Learning and Postsecondary Success. This initiative is part of the Foundation’s broader commitment to invest $1 billion in Texas education over 20 years. The program is structured as a partnership between the Foundation and its grantees, fostering collaboration and shared impact beyond direct financial support. Selected grantees will join a network aimed at improving educational outcomes through strategic alignment, resource sharing, and measurable progress.
The M-Pact Fund operates through an open Request for Proposals (RFP), with grants awarded to nonprofit organizations and public entities working within the strategic focus areas. In addition to financial support, the fund facilitates engagement among grantees by offering networking opportunities and an annual convening for representatives from each organization. The program is structured to create measurable, long-term educational improvements across Texas through research-based interventions and strategic collaboration with governing agencies.
The grant specifically prioritizes programs that serve low-income or at-risk populations, promote research-backed methodologies, and foster collaborative approaches. Funding is focused on Early Learning, which supports high-quality childhood education from birth through third grade, emphasizing literacy and kindergarten readiness, and Postsecondary Success, which enhances college access, career exploration, and workforce development, particularly for first-generation students. In addition to these core areas, the fund also supports related initiatives such as educator workforce development, student and educator mental health, special education services, and wraparound services that address student well-being.
Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations or public entities registered to operate in Texas. All funding must be used within Texas and be aligned with the Foundation’s strategic priorities. Grantees are required to report on grant-related outcomes, participate in M-Pact grantee network activities, and measure key educational metrics relevant to their funded initiatives.
The application process follows an annual cycle, with Cycle 3 applications opening on January 6, 2025, and closing on February 20, 2025. Applications are reviewed, and final decisions are made at a Trustee meeting on May 9, 2025. Notifications will be sent to applicants in June 2025, with funding being initiated in July 2025. A fourth application cycle is anticipated in the summer of 2025, with grants distributed in January 2026, though this cycle may include refined eligibility criteria.
Applicants must complete an online application and adhere to reporting requirements. Additional resources, including FAQs and webinar recordings from previous cycles, are available to guide applicants through the process. Organizations can also schedule office hours with the grant coordinators for further guidance.
