This grant provides funding to nonprofit organizations and local entities in Mississippi to support health promotion and community wellness programs that benefit the state's residents.
Description
The Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi Foundation provides grant funding to improve the health and well-being of the people of Mississippi. They support health promotion programs, community-based programs, and school-based programs that promote health and healthy lifestyles. Eligible organizations must be located in Mississippi or agree to use grant funds for the benefit of Mississippians, benefit the communities in Mississippi, serve the community without discrimination, not duplicate or significantly overlap with public agencies, be a 501(c)(3) charitable organization or a municipality/county/school/university, and not have a contractual relationship with Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi.
The Foundation does not provide funding for individuals, religious organizations, political caucuses/candidates/campaigns, sponsorships of special events or commemorative advertising unless part of an overall grant initiative/program, providers unless they are a charitable branch (501(c)(3)) of a provider, or sports teams/events.
To apply for a grant from the Foundation, organizations must submit a Letter of Inquiry. This is followed by either a request for more information or a full grant application. There is no deadline for submitting Letters of Inquiry. Once submitted, the Letter of Inquiry cannot be edited.
