2024 Community Pond Program Grants

Description
The Community Pond Program aims to bolster fishing opportunities in or near Montana communities by offering funding for the construction or improvement of public fishing ponds. Priority is given to projects that enhance youth/family fishing, angler education, and accessibility for anglers with disabilities. Program funding ranges from $100,000 to $150,000 annually, with individual grants between $1,000 and $40,000. Eligible entities include state agencies, cities, counties, angler groups, and community organizations in collaboration with a Montana Fish, Wildlife, & Parks representative. Funds can be applied to design, construction, repair, or enhancement costs directly related to public angling, with a focus on enhancing handicapped access and safety. Matching funds of at least 30% of the project costs are required.
