BARDA DRIVe EZ-BAA
This funding opportunity supports innovative projects that develop new treatments and technologies to improve lung health and recovery for patients with respiratory conditions.
Description
The Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA), under its Division of Research, Innovation & Ventures (DRIVe), has issued Amendment #036 to the Easy Broad Agency Announcement (EZBAA-22-100-SOL-00003). This amendment specifically updates the closing date for Area of Interest (AOI) #19: Healing Lungs, an initiative focused on advancing technologies to promote lung recovery and repair.
The Healing Lungs AOI aims to support innovative therapeutics, diagnostics, and medical technologies that enhance lung function and recovery, particularly for patients suffering from respiratory illnesses, acute lung injuries, or chronic conditions. Proposals should align with BARDA’s mission to develop and accelerate transformative health solutions that address public health challenges.
This opportunity is open to all responsible entities with an active registration in SAM.gov at the time of submission. Failure to have an active registration will result in rejection of the abstract. Interested applicants are strongly encouraged to request a pre-submission call before submitting an abstract. The request should include the project title, key project staff, and a brief description of the proposed project. Requests should be directed to HealingLungs@hhs.gov.
The closing date for submitting abstracts under AOI #19: Healing Lungs is May 16, 2025, at 12:00 PM ET. Multiple awards are anticipated, depending on program priorities, scientific/technical merit, and funding availability. Funding amounts and the number of awards may vary at the government’s discretion.
Applicants awarded funding must share de-identified data collected during their projects to advance scientific understanding in the field. While commercialization of resulting technology is encouraged, recipients must comply with federal regulations ensuring that data collected using government funding is made available to BARDA.
For a complete understanding of the requirements, applicants should review the full EZBAA along with all amendments.
