This funding opportunity provides financial support to nonprofit organizations serving seniors aged 55 and older in the Greater Lowell area, aiming to improve their quality of life through enhanced social services.

Description

The Leclair Elder Services 2025 Grant is a funding opportunity offered by the Greater Lowell Community Foundation (GLCF) to support nonprofit organizations that provide services to seniors aged 55 and older within the Greater Lowell area. These grants are intended to enhance the quality of life for older adults by supporting local service providers and strengthening the region’s social services network.

GLCF will award multiple grants of up to $10,000 each. The Foundation evaluates applications based on several criteria, including the size of the organization, its service footprint in the Greater Lowell area, the scope and reach of the services provided, the strength of local partnerships, and the financial health and leadership of the organization. Applications should demonstrate a strong impact on the senior population and commitment to community collaboration.

Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) status, as well as those with a qualifying fiscal sponsor. Congregations, government entities, and educational institutions are also eligible to apply. All applicants must serve at least one of the following cities or towns in the Greater Lowell area: Acton, Ashby, Ayer, Bedford, Billerica, Burlington, Carlisle, Chelmsford, Concord, Dracut, Dunstable, Groton, Littleton, Lowell, Pepperell, Shirley, Tewksbury, Townsend, Tyngsborough, Westford, and Wilmington. Organizations must also provide services in a non-discriminatory manner, without regard to race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, age, or disability.

The 2025 application cycle is conducted entirely online. The application portal will open on Tuesday, March 18 at 12:00 PM, and all applications must be submitted by Friday, April 11 at 12:00 PM. Notification of awards will be sent via email in mid-May. Organizations with multiple service locations are instructed to submit a single application covering all sites.

To apply, organizations must log into or create an account on GLCF’s grants portal. New applicants will need to register and are encouraged to watch available video tutorials for assistance. Returning applicants can access the system using their existing login credentials. After logging in, users should select the 2025 Discretionary Grants Cycle to begin their application.

Applicants with questions about eligibility or project suitability are encouraged to contact GLCF early in the process by sending a detailed email to grants@glcfoundation.org. The Foundation may respond via email or offer a brief phone consultation to provide additional guidance.
