Agriculture Energy Audit Program
This program provides free energy audits to eligible farms in New York to help them identify ways to save on energy costs and improve efficiency.
Description
The Agriculture Energy Audit Program, under Program Opportunity Notice (PON) 3846, offers free energy audits for farms to identify measures for energy and cost savings on utility bills. The program covers a variety of farms including dairies, orchards, and greenhouses, providing site-specific recommendations for energy efficiency. It also features a New York State Greenhouse database and benchmarking tool for greenhouse facilities to compare energy use intensity against peers. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis until December 31, 2025, subject to available funding of $3,500,000. Applicants must meet the U.S. Department of Agriculture farm definition, be customers of New York State investor-owned utilities contributing to the electric System Benefits Charge, and may receive a comprehensive audit not more frequent than every two years. Farm residences are not eligible.
