Visit Casper

This grant provides financial and in-kind support to nonprofit organizations in Natrona County, Wyoming, for events that boost local economic activity and enhance community well-being.

Description

The Casper Area Impact (CAI) Grant, funded by Visit Casper and the City of Casper, supports nonprofit organizations based in Natrona County, Wyoming, in producing events and projects that drive economic activity, attract visitors, and improve quality of life for local residents. This annual program offers cash awards, in-kind services, and facility rentals to events taking place between July 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026.

Applicants must be nonprofit organizations based in Natrona County. The CAI Grant specifically supports events with direct economic impact, not general fundraising activities. Grants typically average $2,500 in cash and 50% of in-kind service costs (e.g., staff, rentals), with greater support awarded to non-profitable or breakeven events. Events that generate profit are eligible for a maximum of 50% in-kind support; CAI funds may not be used to cover the remaining balance of in-kind expenses.

Applications are due by May 12, 2025, at 12:00 PM (Noon), either by mail or in-person at Visit Casper, 139 W. 2nd Street, Suite 1B, Casper, WY 82601. Applications will be reviewed based on five core criteria: room nights generated, seasonality (Oct–Feb preferred), economic/social impact, event retention potential, and miscellaneous factors (e.g., innovation, history, sustainability). Award announcements will be made in early June 2025, and applicants may be invited to present to the review committee.

Eligible expenses include advertising (digital, print, broadcast), promotional materials, travel show fees, equipment rentals, space rental, programs, entertainment, and refreshments. Ineligible expenses include postage, alcohol, salaries, capital purchases, and fundraising-related activities.

All funded events must publicly recognize Visit Casper and the City of Casper in marketing and on-site materials, including logos, web links, radio mentions, banners, and printed collateral. A participant list must also be shared for audience targeting purposes.

A Project Report & Evaluation Form, Hotel Tracking Form, and proof of eligible expenses and recognition must be submitted within 60 days of the event’s completion. Funds may be disbursed in advance only with written agreement and commitment to reporting requirements. Late or incomplete reports void the grant.
