Description
The Agricultural Innovation Grant aims to enhance the economic viability of the agriculture industry in Frederick County by supporting agricultural producers in expanding or diversifying their business operations. Eligible applicants include crop or livestock producers, value-added producers, agricultural cooperatives, seafood processors, and primary or secondary timber products processors. The grant can be used for research and development, production buildings, major fixtures, and processing facilities. The next grant cycle is scheduled for March 2024.
Applicants are required to develop a business plan and contact the Frederick County Zoning Office to ensure their proposed project aligns with county regulations. Additionally, they must prepare a budget detailing expenses by category and demonstrate the economic impact of their project on their farm enterprise. Eligible applicants must have been operating in Frederick County for at least a year and recorded at least $2,500 in annual sales.
