2024 AmeriCorps VISTA Program
This funding opportunity supports nonprofit organizations and public agencies in their efforts to combat poverty through community empowerment and sustainable solutions in areas such as economic opportunity, education, and environmental stewardship, with a focus on advancing racial equity and serving underserved communities.
Description
Founded in 1965, Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA) is a cornerstone federal anti-poverty national service program under AmeriCorps, designed to augment nonprofit organizations and public agencies in their efforts to tackle poverty across the United States. AmeriCorps VISTA aims to partner with outcome-oriented organizations that embody its mission through sustainable solutions, community empowerment, capacity building, and a focus on combating poverty. For FY 2024, AmeriCorps VISTA is calling for concept papers from organizations that align with its core principles and are seeking to develop projects within its programming priorities, which include Economic Opportunity, Healthy Futures, Education, Veterans and Military Families, and Environmental Stewardship, with a keen focus on advancing racial equity and supporting underserved communities.
This opportunity emphasizes a two-step application process beginning with a concept paper, followed by a full project application upon acceptance. Organizations interested must review the AmeriCorps VISTA Annual Program Guidance and submit their concept papers through the AmeriCorps eGrants system. AmeriCorps VISTA projects can significantly contribute to poverty alleviation efforts by empowering local communities and building the capacities of organizations to sustain their initiatives long-term.
The deadlines for FY2024 submissions are set for Cycle 1: Nov. 16, 2023, Cycle 2: Feb. 15, 2024, and Cycle 3: March 28, 2024.
