The Henry County Community Foundation

This grant provides funding to non-profit organizations, schools, and government entities that serve the residents of Henry County in areas such as health, education, social services, cultural affairs, and civic affairs.

Description

The Henry County Community Foundation offers grant opportunities for non-profit organizations serving Henry County. They have two grant cycles per year, one in the Spring and one in the Fall. To be eligible, organizations must submit a letter of intent by August 9, 2023, and if selected, they will be invited to submit a full application by September 13, 2023. The grants are not made to individuals and all applications must be submitted online through Foundant Technologies.

The Foundation focuses on five categories: Health and Medical, Social Services, Education, Cultural Affairs, and Civic Affairs. They accept grant applications from organizations that attend the spring or fall grant workshops and whose programs benefit the residents of Henry County. Organizations must be a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt or be sponsored by a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Grants will also be accepted from school and government entities.

Grant applications will be reviewed by a Grants Committee member and recommendations will be made to the Board of Directors during their meetings in March and October. Grant decisions will be mailed to organizations within 48 hours. The Foundation operates without discrimination based on age, race, religion, sex, or national origin.

The funds for community grants come from earnings from the Choose Henry Flex Fund. Each grant application is carefully considered based on established need, potential outside funding, and available resources from the Foundation. If granted funds are not used, they must be returned unless permission is given to use them for another purpose.

To apply for a grant, organizations can access the online application form through Foundant Technologies. The application requires information about the background and purpose of the grant request, as well as supporting documents such as the organization's tax exemption letter and financial statement.
