Description
The Nevada Department of Agriculture (NDA), in partnership with Made in Nevada, is accepting nominations for the 2024 Nevada Agriculture, Food and Beverage Small Business of the Year Award. Now in its fourth year, the award honors outstanding contributions by small businesses in the state’s agriculture, food, and beverage industries. Nominations are due by December 6, 2024. Businesses can be nominated by others or self-nominate through the NDA website at agri.nv.gov.
Eligible nominees must be licensed in Nevada, produce or manufacture at least 51% of their agriculture, food, or beverage products within the state, and have fewer than 150 employees. This award highlights the vital role these industries play in Nevada's economy and recognizes the dedication of producers who contribute to the state’s success. Past recipients include Blue Lizard Farm (2023), Frey Ranch Distillery (2022), and Tsp. Baking Company (2021).
The NDA’s mission is to preserve, protect, and promote Nevada’s agriculture through its five divisions, which include services in plant health, food and nutrition, and animal industry. The department’s efforts extend to supporting food manufacturing, public health, environmental safety, and school and community nutrition programs. The award reflects the NDA’s commitment to fostering local business growth and promoting Nevada-made products.
