Certified Local Government (CLG) Mini-Grants
This program provides financial support to Certified Local Governments in Pennsylvania for various preservation projects, such as planning, surveys, and public education, helping them enhance their local historic preservation efforts.
Description
The Certified Local Government (CLG) Mini-Grant program aims to provide Certified Local Governments in Pennsylvania with timely grant funds to address local preservation needs and build capacity for preservation programs. This program addresses issues and projects that arise outside of the established annual grant cycles, helping communities avoid deferring action or seeking alternative funding sources. Eligible projects include planning and ordinances, design guidelines, surveys and inventories of historic properties, and public education programs, among others, provided they do not involve construction activities.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed monthly by the Pennsylvania State Historic Preservation Office (PA SHPO), with notifications sent to applicants promptly. The grants range from $500 to $7,500 and require a 25% cash match from non-federal sources. Projects funded by these grants should be completed within 3-6 months.
