2025 Arts in Parks Program
This funding opportunity supports arts festivals and events in Seattle parks, specifically targeting underserved communities to promote diversity and strengthen local connections.
Description
The Arts in Parks Grant is a collaborative program between the Seattle Office of Arts & Culture and Seattle Parks and Recreation, designed to support neighborhood arts councils, community groups, and individual artists in bringing new and existing festivals or events to Seattle parks. The program focuses on serving underserved and economically challenged communities, promoting arts, celebrating diversity, and fostering connections within the community.
Grants are awarded to projects that activate public parks through arts and cultural programming, prioritizing communities most affected by systemic oppression, including low-income individuals, people with disabilities, immigrants, refugees, and BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) communities. In 2023, the program awarded $205,400 in funding, involving 1,069 artists, with 80% of funded events focusing on BIPOC communities.
The application process for the 2025 cycle opens on September 16, 2025, with a submission deadline of October 28, 2025. Interested applicants should review the program guidelines, which are available in multiple languages, to understand eligibility criteria, funding amounts, and application requirements.
Funding supports a variety of artistic and cultural activities, including performances, festivals, workshops, and interactive events. Priority is given to proposals that demonstrate strong community engagement, cultural significance, and accessibility for diverse populations. Applicants must provide a detailed project plan, budget, and impact statement.
