FY26 Project Grant for Artists (PGA)
This funding opportunity provides financial support to individual artists in Nevada for creating, presenting, and promoting a wide range of artistic projects.
The Fiscal Year 2026 (FY26) Project Grant for Artists (PGA) from the Nevada Arts Council provides funding to individual artists in Nevada for the creation, presentation, and promotion of artistic projects. The grant is intended to support a broad range of artistic endeavors, including exhibitions, performances, readings, concerts, art creation, portfolio development, curation, and marketing activities. The program is structured into two six-month funding cycles, allowing applicants flexibility in aligning their projects with the grant's funding period. While some planning activities may take place outside of the designated cycle, the primary, grant-funded portion of the project must occur within the specified timeframe.
The PGA is available in two cycles: Cycle A supports projects occurring from July 1 to December 31, 2025, while Cycle B covers projects from January 1 to June 30, 2026. Applications for Cycle A open on January 2, 2025, and close on March 3, 2025. Applications for Cycle B open on July 1, 2025, and close on September 2, 2025. The maximum grant amount is $3,000, and no matching funds are required. Funds may be disbursed either as an advance payment upon the submission of signed terms and conditions or as reimbursement. Grant recipients must submit a final report by the deadline outlined in the award packet to remain eligible for future grants from the Nevada Arts Council.
Eligibility for this grant is limited to individual artists who are residents of Nevada and have lived in the state for at least one year before applying. Applicants must be at least 21 years old, be U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents, and must not be enrolled as degree-seeking students in a field related to the grant. Artists collaborating on a project must submit a joint application with one designated primary applicant. Each artist may receive only one Project Grant for Artists per fiscal year.
Grant funds may be used for project-related expenses, including artist and collaborator fees, facility costs, equipment purchases (up to $500), consumable materials, production expenses, marketing and promotion, travel for accommodation and transportation, and contracted services. However, funds cannot be used for attending or teaching workshops, purchasing permanent equipment over $500, covering expenses outside the funding cycle, or funding projects that have been previously supported by the Nevada Arts Council.
Applications are reviewed by a panel that scores submissions based on three primary criteria: project planning and management (30 points), artistic excellence (40 points), and project impact and artistic merit (30 points). Reviewers evaluate the feasibility of the proposed project, the artistic quality of the work, and the broader impact of the project on the applicant’s craft and community. Grant awards are subject to change based on the panel’s recommendations and available funding.
To apply, applicants must complete an online application and submit supporting materials, including proof of Nevada residency, a project narrative, a timeline, objectives and outcomes, an artistic work sample, a budget table, resumes of applicants and collaborators, and any additional supporting materials such as marketing samples or letters of agreement.
