Nevada Arts Council (NAC)

This funding opportunity provides financial support to individual artists in Nevada for creating, presenting, and promoting a wide range of artistic projects.

Description

The Nevada Arts Council's Fiscal Year 2026 Project Grant for Artists (Cycle B) is a funding opportunity designed to support individual artists in Nevada for the creation, production, and presentation of artistic projects. The grant cycle covers projects scheduled from January 1 through June 30, 2026. Applications for Cycle B will open on July 1, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. Pacific Time and close on September 2, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time. The program offers up to $3,000 per award, with no matching funds required. This is a semi-annual grant offered in two cycles to support projects aligned with specific six-month timelines.

The primary purpose of this grant is to facilitate artistic development and public engagement by enabling artists to produce or present work within a defined timeframe. Examples of eligible projects include performances, exhibitions, readings, concerts, creation of art or portfolios, curation, and promotional efforts related to an arts project. While planning phases of the project may occur outside the grant period, the core, grant-funded activities must take place within the six-month cycle.

Applicants must be individual artists who are current Nevada residents, aged 21 or older, and not enrolled in a degree-seeking program in a related field. Applicants must have resided in Nevada for at least one year prior to applying and be either U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents. Artists working collaboratively may apply with one person designated as the primary applicant. Each artist may only receive one Project Grant for Artists per fiscal year.

Grant funds may be used for a variety of project-related expenses, including fees for participating artists, space rental, equipment (up to $500), materials, marketing, travel (limited to accommodation and transportation), and contracted services. However, funds cannot be used for attending or teaching workshops or classes, permanent equipment over $500, expenses outside the designated grant cycle, or for projects previously funded by the Nevada Arts Council.

Applications are evaluated based on three main criteria: Project Planning and Management (30 points), Artistic Excellence (40 points), and Project Impact/Artistic Merit (30 points). Applicants must demonstrate strong planning, a compelling artistic vision, and the potential impact of their project both on their own practice and on the broader community.

To apply, artists must complete an online application and submit various supporting materials including proof of residency, narrative responses, a budget table, artistic work samples, and resumes. Final Reports documenting the expenditure of grant funds and outcomes of the project are required for grantees to remain eligible for future funding. Questions may be directed to Artist Services Specialists Sapira Cheuk (scheuk@nevadaculture.org, 702-486-3744) or Stephen Reid (sreid@nevadaculture.org, 775-687-7108).
