Description
The Central Indiana Senior Fund, managed by the Central Indiana Community Foundation (CICF), is committed to supporting programs and opportunities for low-to-moderate-income older adults in Central Indiana. The Fund focuses particularly on underserved or isolated populations, aiming to ensure equitable access to basic needs and the ability for seniors to live with dignity and worth. Since its establishment in 2005, the Central Indiana Senior Fund has awarded over $12.3 million to senior-focused nonprofit organizations and programs in the region.
The Fund’s strategic grantmaking approach focuses on four key areas: basic needs, health and wellness, living environment of choice, and life-affirming opportunities. Grant applications are welcomed from organizations addressing these critical areas to enhance the lives of older adults in Central Indiana. The Fund encourages applicants to be both responsive and proactive, aiming to meet the current and emerging needs of the aging population.
The grant cycle for 2025 is structured with key dates. Applications opened on Monday, March 31, 2025. The original deadline for submissions was April 30, 2025, but it was extended to Wednesday, May 7, 2025, by 4 PM ET. Funding decisions will be made in late July, and applicants will be notified and funds released by mid-August. Applicants are encouraged to use the Senior Fund Application Preview document to prepare their submissions and collaborate on drafting applications before the final online submission.
To apply, organizations must meet the grant guidelines, which are accessible through the CICF website. The Fund does not specify eligibility restrictions beyond a focus on serving older adults in Central Indiana. For more information or assistance, applicants are directed to contact Allissa Impink, Director of Family Philanthropy and Senior Philanthropic Advisor at CICF, at cisf@cicf.org.
The Central Indiana Senior Fund Advisory Board, chaired by Keesha Dixon, includes community leaders and experts who guide the Fund’s strategic focus. The Fund’s work is further informed by resources like the "State of Aging Report," which outlines demographic trends and challenges facing older adults in Central Indiana, ensuring that equity remains central to funding decisions.
