Description
The Prince George’s County Government and the Chesapeake Bay Trust have announced the 11th year of the Prince George’s County Stormwater Stewardship Grant Program. This program funds community-driven restoration projects aimed at improving water quality, supporting the County’s Climate Action Plan, and engaging local residents in environmental protection efforts. Projects must take place within Prince George’s County, Maryland, excluding the City of Bowie, which runs its own stormwater program.
Grant Tracks and Funding:
Track 1: Water Quality Implementation ($50,000 - $150,000)
Track 2: Tree Canopy: Outreach, Education, Maintenance, and Preservation ($50,000 - $300,000)
Track 3: Community Awareness and Engagement ($10,000 - $60,000)
Track 4: Illegal Dumping Data Analysis and Forensics ($10,000 - $50,000)
Track 5: Additional Project Support Fund ($500 - $5,000)
Who Can Apply:
Eligible applicants include non-profits, municipalities, watershed organizations, educational institutions, community associations, faith-based organizations, and civic groups.
Additional Information:
Matching funds: Encouraged but not required.
Application Process: Applications are submitted online. Proposals should align with the "Jobs First Act" (CB-17-2011), and coordination with the County’s Supplier Development and Diversity Division is encouraged.
Review Process: Applications are reviewed by a Technical Review Committee based on cost-benefit, experience, sustainability, and consistency with the Request for Proposals (RFP).
