Description
The City of Mentor, Ohio is accepting applications for its 2025 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding program for projects scheduled to take place between October 1, 2025, and September 30, 2026. A total of $162,638 in CDBG funds is available for the fiscal year, reflecting a minimal decrease from the previous cycle. Funded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the CDBG program is federally mandated to support projects that primarily benefit low- and moderate-income (LMI) residents, eliminate slums and blight, or address urgent community needs that pose a serious threat to health and safety.
Eligible applicants must demonstrate that their proposed projects meet one of the federally defined national objectives. These may include improvements in housing, infrastructure, public facilities, economic development, or services that assist disadvantaged populations. The City of Mentor is offering technical assistance to all applicants during the submission process to ensure compliance with eligibility criteria and strengthen proposal quality.
Completed applications must be submitted no later than 5:00 PM on Wednesday, May 5, 2025. Late submissions will not be accepted. Interested applicants may download the application from the City’s CDBG page at www.mentorcdbg.com.
