Capitol Complex Construction Interruption Grant Program
This program provides $40,000 to small public-facing businesses in the Illinois Capitol Complex to help them recover from revenue losses due to nearby construction.
Description
The Capitol Complex Construction Interruption Grant Program, administered by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO), provides a one-time grant of $40,000 to small public-facing businesses located within the Illinois Capitol Complex in Springfield. The program is designed to offset revenue losses caused by construction in the area. Eligible businesses must have fewer than 100 employees, have previously received a Back 2 Business NewBiz Grant, and provide documentation of financial losses incurred during the construction period from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025. Applications, which are due by November 29, 2024, at 5:00 PM CST, must be submitted online and include a uniform grant application, budget, conflict of interest disclosures, and supporting documentation. Funds are limited to operating expenses, and no cost-sharing or indirect costs are allowed. Grantees must submit periodic financial and performance reports and comply with audit and monitoring requirements.
