Sustaining Grants 2025-2026
This funding opportunity supports grassroots organizations in New England that are dedicated to anti-racist initiatives and social justice, helping them build movements and drive systemic change in their communities.
Description
The Haymarket People's Fund offers Sustaining Grants designed to support grassroots, social change organizations in New England that align with the fund's anti-racist values and broader social justice mission. These grants are tailored to help organizations that are actively building movements and engaging in systemic change within their communities. The fund emphasizes support for organizations deeply committed to transformative justice and anti-racist work.
Sustaining Grants provide up to $20,000 per organization, with actual grant amounts determined based on a thorough evaluation of each proposal. This evaluation takes into consideration Haymarket’s established funding criteria and its overarching commitment to strengthening anti-racist movement building in the region. While the maximum possible grant award is specified, individual awards may vary.
The next round of applications for Sustaining Grants will open in the fall of 2025. Grant application materials typically become available in early October. Organizations that have received Haymarket funding within the past three years will be sent an application package directly via email at that time. Organizations that have not received funding in the last three years must first schedule a phone conversation with Haymarket staff before they can receive an application. This initial conversation is intended to assess alignment with basic funding criteria.
To initiate the application process, new applicants are encouraged to contact Jaime by emailing jaime@haymarket.org or calling 617-522-7676 ext. 115. This preliminary step ensures that all applicants meet the fundamental requirements and allows for a personal conversation about the organization’s work. Only after this conversation will qualifying applicants be invited to submit a proposal.
Haymarket also offers a Grant Information Webinar as a resource to help prospective applicants better understand the fund’s criteria and the overall grants process. This educational opportunity is designed to provide clarity and transparency around what the fund is looking for and how applications are evaluated.
