This grant provides financial support to nonprofit organizations in Tillamook County, Oregon, for projects that promote economic development and enhance community livability, with a focus on creating lasting physical assets.
Description
Tillamook People’s Utility District (PUD) offers the Community Support Grant program to support local not-for-profit organizations in Tillamook County, Oregon. The grant aims to fund projects that promote economic development and enhance community livability. Eligible projects must be completed by the end of the 2025 calendar year. This initiative seeks to empower organizations that do not receive tax-based funding and that contribute to the long-term growth and well-being of the local community.
The grant is open to any officer or authorized representative of a not-for-profit organization based in Tillamook County. Priority consideration will be given to projects that create a physical asset, demonstrate a significant need for financial assistance, and do not receive funding through taxes. Applications will be evaluated by the Tillamook PUD Board of Directors based on criteria such as the project's economic development potential, its outreach and impact on the local community, and its feasibility for completion within the 2025 calendar year.
Individual grant awards will not exceed $10,000, and no organization will be awarded more than $20,000 within a five-year period. Funding is distributed on a reimbursement basis, meaning final grant funds will be disbursed only upon project completion. The awarded amount will not exceed the project's final total cost. Recipients must comply with monitoring requirements, including progress reports in June and September, as well as final cost verification and a closing report upon completion.
The application process requires organizations to submit a detailed proposal, including project scope, description, total cost, requested amount, economic development benefits, community outreach impact, budget breakdown, and any supporting materials such as photographs or letters of support. Applicants must also confirm their nonprofit status and specify whether they receive funding from a tax base.
Applications must be submitted electronically (preferred) or in person by Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. The Tillamook PUD Board of Directors will review applications and select recipients at a meeting in March 2025. All applicants will be notified of the final selection results following the decision.
Grant recipients are expected to maintain communication with Tillamook PUD throughout the project duration. The PUD may conduct periodic reviews and site inspections to ensure compliance. This program is an opportunity for nonprofit organizations in Tillamook County to obtain funding for impactful projects that contribute to local economic growth and improve community well-being.
