The America 250 North Carolina Local Grants Program offers funding to county committees for projects that commemorate North Carolina’s contributions to the Revolutionary War and the development of the United States. The goal is to support public programs, research, tourism, and educational outreach across all 100 counties in North Carolina, ensuring broad participation in the state’s semiquincentennial celebrations.

Eligible Applicants: Local government entities or county committees with an official America 250 NC designation.
Eligible Projects: Strategic planning, public art, historical markers, educational outreach, festivals, archaeology, and more, all tied to the America 250 themes.
Ineligible Costs: Capital expenses, non-America 250 related operating costs, equipment (cameras, computers), fundraising, food, and alcohol.
Application Requirements:
Complete an online application with a budget, conflict of interest policy, resolution confirming county committee status, and property permissions for projects involving fixed installations.
Project components must have a strong connection to America 250 NC themes, such as North Carolina’s role in the Revolutionary War.
Grant funds will be disbursed in installments based on deliverables and reporting requirements.
