Description
The Northeast Dutchess Fund, established by the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation in 2002, aims to support new or existing projects, programs, and organizations that positively impact and empower residents in northeast Dutchess County, New York. The fund prioritizes initiatives that serve low-income and underserved adults and children, working to address unmet community needs.
Guided by a committee of local community advisors, the fund reviews grant applications, offers technical assistance to nonprofits, and initiates services to enhance community well-being. Grants are available for nonprofits, municipalities, and community organizations serving residents of Amenia, Clinton Corners, Dover Plains, Millbrook, Millerton, North East, Pine Plains, Stanford, Washington, Wassaic, and Wingdale.
Funding may be requested for general operating support, new or ongoing programs, or capital projects. First-time applicants seeking general operating support are encouraged to contact the Community Engagement Officer before applying. Capital projects require a 1:1 match in cash or in-kind contributions.
Additionally, off-cycle emergency grants (up to $1,000) are available throughout the year for urgent organizational needs. The Neighbor-to-Neighbor (N2N) initiative provides up to $1,000 in emergency assistance for individuals facing economic distress, including overdue utilities, medical bills, short-term housing costs, and transportation issues.
Grant recipients must report on previous awards before reapplying. Multi-year requests are considered on a case-by-case basis. The application deadline for the 2025 funding cycle is February 15, 2025.
