LGBTQ Community Fund Grants

The LGBTQ Community Fund for Northeast Florida aims to support organizations that serve LGBTQ populations by fostering inclusivity and building a welcoming environment in Northeast Florida. Established in 2014, the fund focuses on addressing pressing community needs by providing financial assistance to nonprofit organizations with a primary mission of serving LGBTQ individuals. The fund prioritizes projects benefiting specific LGBTQ populations, including aging adults, Black/African Americans, gender minorities, and youth, though projects benefiting other LGBTQ populations will also be considered.
The grant provides general program support, with funding amounts up to $10,000 for selected nonprofit organizations. Organizations with annual operating budgets over $50,000 are eligible for the full $10,000, while those with budgets at or below $50,000 are eligible for up to $5,000. The fund supports a range of initiatives, including leadership training programs for LGBTQ individuals, family support projects, LGBTQ sensitivity training, inclusion workshops, education and visibility campaigns, and public speaker events focused on LGBTQ issues.
Eligible applicants must be nonprofit organizations with a 501(c)(3) status and a minimum of two years of operational history. Additionally, organizations must be based in and serve at least one of the following counties in Northeast Florida: Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, Putnam, or St. Johns. Grants are not awarded for capital campaigns, endowment funds, debt retirement, political or religious activities, or projects outside of the specified region.
The application process opens on February 1, 2025. Organizations seeking assistance with their applications can schedule in-person, virtual, or phone appointments between February 5 and March 21, 2025. The final application deadline is March 25, 2025, at 11:59 PM. Grant recipients will be notified by June 15, 2025, with funded projects beginning as early as July 1, 2025, and extending through December 31, 2026, covering a 12-month period.
