Nevada Arts Council (NAC)

This funding opportunity supports Nevada-based nonprofit organizations and public institutions in executing arts and cultural projects that benefit local communities.

Description

The Fiscal Year 2026 (FY26) Project Grant for Organizations (PGO), managed by the Nevada Arts Council, supports nonprofit organizations and public institutions in implementing arts and cultural projects within Nevada. Eligible projects include art exhibitions, performances, readings, festivals, and similar activities. Portions of the project may be planned outside the grant period, but any expenses covered by PGO funds must occur between July 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026. To remain eligible for future funding, grantees must submit a Final Report by the specified deadline.

Eligible applicants include Nevada-based nonprofit organizations with federal tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3), an active incorporation status with the Nevada Secretary of State, and a Unique Entity ID (UEI) from SAM.gov. Public institutions, such as schools, libraries, and government entities, are also eligible if based in Nevada. Institutions from bordering states may apply if at least 75% of the project serves Nevada communities and all funds benefit those communities. Organizations receiving Operating Support Grants from the Nevada Arts Council in the same fiscal year are not eligible for PGO funds.

Grant awards can go up to $7,000, requiring a 1:1 cash or in-kind match. Funds may be disbursed as advance payments or reimbursements, and expenditures must align with approved budgets. Eligible expenses include administrative personnel, artist fees, contractor fees, facility costs, consumable supplies, production costs, marketing, and travel. Restrictions include using funds for general operating support, permanent equipment purchases exceeding $1,000, fundraising benefiting the organization as a whole, and arts learning activities (which require a separate Arts Learning Project Grant).

Applications are evaluated by a review panel based on three main criteria: Project Planning and Management (30 points), Community Impact and Artistic Merit (40 points), and Artistic Excellence (30 points). Strong proposals demonstrate clear objectives, a realistic budget, inclusivity, accessibility, and a commitment to artistic quality. The Nevada Arts Council Board makes final funding decisions, and grant amounts may vary based on panel scores and available funding.

The application period opens on December 2, 2024, and closes on February 3, 2025. Applicants can apply online after reviewing the Grant and Award Policies and Application Questions. For assistance, including translation and language support, applicants may contact the Nevada Arts Council. For specific questions about the grant, Michelle Patrick and Lauren Frick are available as staff contacts.
