Description
The Ireton Community Foundation, operating through the Siouxland Community Foundation, is currently offering its 2025 grant opportunity to support charitable initiatives serving the Ireton, Iowa community. Established in 1998 through a bequest from Erlene Kading, the Ireton Community Foundation was created to ensure sustained support for the community by providing endowment-funded grants to local nonprofit organizations and government units. The Foundation's advisory committee, composed of community leaders and representatives from local institutions, oversees the fundraising and advising processes for grants awarded through the Foundation.
The grant program is designed to address both present and emerging needs within the 51027 zip code area. It prioritizes projects that enhance quality of life in Ireton, support growth and development, and foster a spirit of volunteerism and collaboration. Eligible applicants must be nonprofit organizations with IRS 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status or units of local government. All proposals must serve the Ireton community specifically.
The grant application period opens on February 1 and closes at noon on April 15. Final funding decisions will be made by mid-June. While the Foundation does not publicly disclose a specific funding ceiling or floor, it has outlined several key funding areas: arts and culture, civic improvements, education, environmental projects, health initiatives, and human services. Projects are evaluated based on their potential to enhance the community, address emerging needs, leverage additional resources, and provide widespread benefit. Priority will also be given to collaborative efforts and initiatives that create future opportunities for Ireton.
Applications should be submitted via the Foundation's online Grant Application Dashboard, and all funded programs must directly benefit the Ireton area. The Foundation does not fund general operating expenses, annual fund drives, political activities, endowments, capital campaigns, religious activities, or requests for already completed projects or purchases. Additionally, multi-year grant proposals and applications from individuals will not be considered.
