This funding opportunity provides financial support to nonprofit organizations, veteran service organizations, and county directors of veteran affairs in Pennsylvania to enhance programs and services for veterans, focusing on outreach, health, transportation, and employment initiatives.
Description
The Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) has opened applications for the 2025-26 Veterans' Trust Fund (VTF) grants, supporting programs and services for Pennsylvania veterans. Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations, veteran service organizations with 501(c)(19) status, and county directors of veteran affairs. Grant applications are due by Friday, December 16, 2024, at 2 p.m. EST.
Funding priorities are tailored to different applicant types. County directors of veterans affairs and the Pennsylvania Association of County Directors of Veterans Affairs can apply for grants focused on veterans' outreach initiatives. Veteran service organizations and nonprofits with a 501(c)(3) designation that serve Pennsylvania veterans are encouraged to submit proposals for projects addressing social determinants of health, transportation, and employment.
To assist applicants, DMVA is holding an informational TEAMS meeting on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 11 a.m. This session will cover the grant guidelines, timeline, and application process, with time allocated for questions. A recording will be available for those unable to attend live.
The VTF is funded by donations from Pennsylvania residents, including contributions from juror stipends, license plate sales, and vehicle registration fees. Since its inception in 2013, the VTF program has awarded 312 grants totaling $8.1 million to organizations supporting Pennsylvania veterans.
