2024 Pennsylvania Peach and Nectarine Research Program
This program provides funding for peach and nectarine growers in Pennsylvania with 500 or more trees to support research on improving production practices and addressing challenges in the industry.
Description
The Pennsylvania Peach and Nectarine Research Program is designed to support peach and nectarine producers who grow 500 or more trees of any age for sale or marketing. The program collects funds from these producers specifically for research in peach and nectarine production. Research topics include, but are not limited to, pests, diseases, varietals, tree spacing, canopy management, and mechanization. The Secretary of Agriculture and the Program Board, in cooperation with state, federal, or other organizations, oversee the allocation of these funds to relevant research projects. The request for proposals is distributed annually through the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) schools in November, with awards given during the Mid-Atlantic Fruit and Vegetable Convention typically held in late January or early February.
Grant renewed every year.
