Ambassador's Fund for Cultural Preservation Grants Program
This program provides funding for organizations in Bolivia to preserve and protect cultural heritage sites, objects, and traditional expressions, with a focus on urgent preservation needs and sustainable practices.
Description
The Ambassador's Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP) Grants Program by the U.S. Embassy in La Paz invites Statements of Interest (SOIs) from organizations in Bolivia to support cultural preservation projects. This program funds initiatives that preserve cultural sites, objects, collections, and traditional cultural expressions in Bolivia, with award funding ranging from $25,000 to $500,000. SOIs are due by December 27, 2024, at 12:00 noon La Paz time.
Eligible applicants include non-governmental organizations, museums, educational institutions, ministries of culture, and U.S.-based nonprofits. Projects should address urgent preservation needs and outline sustainability measures to maintain the cultural asset post-project. Funded activities may include conservation, stabilization, restoration, and documentation of cultural heritage sites and artifacts, excluding religious sites unless they are of historical, architectural, or artistic significance.
SOIs must be concise, limited to 3 pages, and include a description of the project, urgency, sustainability plans, and visual documentation. Selected applicants will be invited to submit full proposals, which will undergo a second review before final decisions are made. For further information, applicants can contact Fabiola Ibarnegaray at IbarnegarayFX@state.gov.
