Funding available for Individual Dancers and Choreographers in New York
This funding opportunity provides financial support to individual dancers, choreographers, and small dance organizations based in the Bronx to help them develop their artistic projects and professional skills.
Description
The 2025 Bronx Dance Fund, administered by the Bronx Council on the Arts (BCA), supports the development of Bronx-based dance artists and organizations. The program offers grants of up to $7,500 for individual dancers, choreographers, unincorporated groups, and nonprofit dance organizations. Funding may be used for general operating support, project-based activities, capacity building, training, professional development, or production expenses. The fund prioritizes early-career dance artists and BIPOC-led organizations.
Eligible applicants must be based in the Bronx. Individual applicants and unincorporated groups must demonstrate Bronx residency and be 18 years or older. Organizations must have 501(c)(3) status, an active board, and annual budgets of $250,000 or less. For project grants, productions must occur within New York City. Applications will be accepted from October 7 to November 25, 2024, with grant notifications in February 2025.
Applications require a project description, budget, proof of eligibility, resumes, and work samples from the past three years. Proposals are evaluated on artistic merit, clarity, management practices, project feasibility, and connection to the Bronx. Information sessions and consultations will be available to assist applicants.
