New Jersey Youth Corps (NJYC)
This program provides funding to organizations that support out-of-school youth aged 16-25 in New Jersey, helping them earn a high school diploma and gain skills for sustainable employment.
Description
The New Jersey Youth Corps (NJYC) program aims to assist disconnected out-of-school youth aged 16-25 who lack a high school diploma by providing them with educational, training, and employment opportunities. The program focuses on reengaging these individuals through a coordinated service system that includes full-time education, individual counseling, and transition services to help them overcome barriers and achieve sustainable career development. The program is designed to help Corpsmembers obtain a High School Diploma or measurable skill gains and transition to qualified post-corps placements along identified career pathways.
Eligible applicants for the NJYC program include organizations that received Youth Corps funding in FY2024 and have met program and fiscal requirements. The application process requires a letter of intent to apply, which must be submitted by April 16, 2024. The funding for the program is expected to be $6,300,000 for Fiscal Year 2025, with a maximum grant amount of $12,600 per Corpsmember. The application deadline for continuation applications is May 3, 2024.
