2025 Competitive Grants
This grant provides financial support to nonprofit organizations and government entities serving Teton County, Wyoming, to address community needs through various initiatives and projects.
The Community Foundation of Jackson Hole provides Competitive Grants to nonprofit organizations, government entities, and other IRS-recognized charitable organizations serving Teton County, Wyoming. The foundation aims to address diverse community needs through financial support and strategic partnerships. A volunteer Grants Committee, composed of dedicated community members with diverse experience, is responsible for reviewing applications and making funding decisions. The grants support various initiatives, including new or existing programs, capital projects, equipment purchases, capacity building, and general operations. The funding cannot be used for debt retirement, religious or political activities, projects primarily focused on influencing legislation, or projects or training that have already been completed.
For the 2025 Competitive Grants cycle, applications open on January 29 and close on March 5. Eligible organizations may request funding between $3,000 and $30,000, with total funding for the program ranging between $650,000 and $750,000 annually. Awards are typically distributed partially, with the 2024 mean grant award amounting to $12,500 and the median award at $12,000. Applications from organizations outside Teton County must reach out to the foundation before applying if they are seeking funding for projects that serve the county.
Applications are reviewed by the Grants Committee, and applicants will be notified of funding decisions in the week of May 5. Grant recipients are required to submit a Grant Report upon project completion, detailing the project's impact, evaluation strategies, budget variances, and acknowledgment of the Community Foundation’s contribution. Reports for 2024 Competitive Grants are due on December 1, 2025, while reports for 2025 grants are due on December 1, 2026. Grant reports may influence future funding decisions, and grantees are encouraged to submit photographs documenting their projects.
The foundation provides multiple resources to assist applicants, including an Application Tip Sheet and an Application Tech Guide. Additionally, prospective applicants can schedule a 30-minute meeting with a CFJH Grants Team member for detailed inquiries. Organizations are also encouraged to reach out via email at grants@cfjacksonhole.org with any questions regarding their proposal’s fit within the grant program.
Competitive Grants are funded through a combination of contributions from Old Bill’s CoChallengers, individual donors, and endowed funds held by the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole. Grantees are expected to adhere to the foundation’s communication requirements for grant recipients, ensuring proper acknowledgment of funding received.
