Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission

This grant provides funding to organizations in Pennsylvania to create educational programs that promote fishing and boating, focusing on attracting new participants, retaining current ones, and reactivating former anglers and boaters.

Description

The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) Recruitment, Retention, and Reactivation (R3) Education Grant provides up to $25,000 to support organizations in delivering educational programs that encourage fishing and boating across the state. Aimed at retaining current participants, reactivating former anglers and boaters, and attracting diverse new audiences, the grant funds programs that build skills, increase knowledge, and enhance access to local fishing and boating opportunities. Eligible organizations must commit a 25% match of total project costs and align their programs with PFBC’s goals of fostering an inclusive and engaged community of anglers and boaters. Applications are due by December 6, 2024, with award announcements expected by February 28, 2025. Projects may begin around July 1, 2025, pending Comptroller approval, and must be completed by June 30, 2026, with a final report due by July 15, 2026. It is essential that projects only incur costs after Comptroller approval, as earlier expenses are not reimbursable.
