2025 Dividends Through Diversity Grant Program
This grant provides funding to nonprofit organizations that support underrepresented populations in the commercial real estate sector through employment training, entrepreneurship resources, and investment education.
Description
The Nareit Foundation is accepting applications for its 2025 Dividends Through Diversity (DTD) Grant Program, which aims to increase diversity in the REIT and publicly traded commercial real estate sectors. The DTD Grant Program provides funding to nonprofit organizations working to support underrepresented populations through employment, entrepreneurship, and investment education programs. The application deadline is November 22, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. ET. Interested applicants can learn more during an informational webinar on November 7, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. ET.
The program targets three main areas: employment initiatives, entrepreneurship, and investment education. Eligible employment initiatives should help prepare diverse talent for commercial real estate careers through internships, mentoring, and leadership training. Entrepreneurship programs should focus on strengthening Minority- and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (MWBEs) by providing resources such as business mentoring, accelerator programs, and access to capital. Investment education initiatives should improve financial literacy and awareness of REIT investments to foster economic growth within underserved communities.
To qualify, applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofits with a minimum of five years of operational history, a stable financial position, and a commitment to serving underserved, underrepresented, or low-income populations. Additionally, no more than 20% of the grant funds may go toward administrative costs, and capital projects are not eligible for funding.
Grant awards can reach up to $100,000, depending on project scope, budget, and readiness, though exact funding amounts may vary. Applications must be submitted through Submittable, requiring applicants to create an account.
