Description
The County of Kaua‘i Office of the Prosecuting Attorney’s Life’s Choices program invites proposals for the Adult and Adolescent Mental Health and Substance Abuse Community Program Grants for Fiscal Year 2024-2025. This funding opportunity seeks to expand access to pro-social activities, mental health treatment, and substance abuse services for adolescents and adults. A total of $1,000,000 in grant funding is available for eligible community programs.
The grant application period opens on January 3, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. and closes on February 14, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. Applications must be submitted via email to opagrants@kauai.gov. Submissions through postal mail, fax, in-person delivery, or after the deadline will not be considered. Interested applicants can access the Request for Proposals (RFP) and application form through the Life’s Choices website.
Eligible programs must provide services such as clinical mental health or substance abuse treatment, certified substance abuse counseling using evidence-based practices, and collaboration with community agencies to ensure a continuum of care. Priority consideration will be given to programs serving adolescents and young adults on Kaua‘i, as evidence highlights the positive impact of engaging youth in pro-social activities for long-term success.
Applicants will be notified of funding decisions during the week of February 24, 2025, and project funding will be available from March 15, 2025, through March 14, 2026.
