Jackson Electric Membership Corporation
This grant provides financial support to individuals and organizations in specific Georgia counties for programs addressing human needs, education, health, and emergency assistance.
Description
The Jackson EMC Foundation provides funding to individuals and organizations in the counties served by Jackson EMC, including Banks, Barrow, Clarke, Franklin, Gwinnett, Hall, Jackson, Lumpkin, Madison, and Oglethorpe. Non-profits, community-based or volunteer organizations, civic organizations, shelters, hospitals, families and individuals may apply for grants. Grant awards are limited to $5,000 for individuals and $20,000 for organizations.
Applications must be targeted to program support in areas such as human need; education and development; family enrichment; literacy; health education, awareness and advocacy; and medical or disaster-related emergencies. The board meets bi-monthly to review applications and decisions are communicated within 60 days of the meeting at which the application was reviewed.
Applicants can apply by completing the forms provided on the Jackson EMC website and emailing them to jemcfoundation@jacksonemc.com. The Foundation operates in compliance with Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and funding may come from participating members, employee donations, and unclaimed capital credits.
