Award Details: Successful applicants will receive a new, custom-designed sports court with hand-crafted amenities. The program aims to address the lack of play opportunities for older youth by providing interlocking tiles that are easy to install and maintain. The sports courts can accommodate various sports such as basketball, hockey, volleyball, and more.
Eligibility and Qualifications: This grant opportunity is specific to certain cities or metropolitan areas within the United States. Eligible organizations must serve youth from low-income populations and demonstrate the need for an engaging space for kids and older youth to play sports. Applicants should work with the community to fundraise for equipment costs and must either own the land or have a long-term lease with permission from the landowner. Other requirements include recruiting a planning committee, completing site preparation, securing necessary permits, identifying community resources for in-kind contributions, and accepting ownership and maintenance responsibilities upon project completion.
