Description

The Renewable Energy Grant supports initiatives promoting renewable energy and enhancing energy efficiency throughout Maui County. FY25 provides $100,000 to support projects in this vital area. The recently expanded Green Grants Program focuses on innovative initiatives and projects that contribute to sustainability, natural resource protection, conservation, and restoration. Projects led by or focusing on women, youth, and traditional native Hawaiian practices are highly encouraged. Approximately $1.7 million in competitive funding is available, with an additional $3.3 million allocated for managing invasive species, protecting wetlands, predator control at seabird colonies, and coastal water quality monitoring. Eligible applicants include individuals, for-profits, and nonprofits. Proposals must be submitted electronically by July 29, 2024.
