Description
The Fast Pitch Grant, managed by the Legacy Foundation of Southeast Arizona, is an organizational development grant aimed at enhancing the effectiveness and capacity of nonprofit organizations. The grant supports activities that improve internal operations rather than funding specific programs or services. It focuses on areas such as strategic planning, professional development, technology upgrades, and software support, benefiting nonprofits in Cochise and Eastern Santa Cruz Counties.
Eligible applicants include Arizona-based 501(c)(3) organizations and certain government entities that contribute to population health and community wellness in Southeast Arizona. Organizations must have a non-discrimination policy in place regarding staff, volunteers, and governance, and must comply with all general requirements of the Legacy Foundation's grant process. Organizations with overdue reports for previous grants are ineligible to apply.
The grant provides up to $2,500 per nonprofit organization. Funds must be used for one-time projects that positively impact the internal workings of the organization, such as attending professional seminars, obtaining coaching, developing strategic plans, or purchasing software and technology tools that enhance organizational efficiency. Awardees are expected to implement the grant within 12 months of receiving the funds.
The application process is straightforward and does not require a Letter of Intent (LOI). Applications open on January 13, 2025, and close at 4:30 PM on January 31, 2025. Late submissions will not be accepted. Applications are submitted via the Legacy Foundation's grant portal. Selected applicants will be notified by February 7, 2025, and invited to present their pitch on February 19, 2025.
Applicants must prepare a 10-minute presentation or video pitch that outlines their organization, the amount requested, how the funds will be used, and the anticipated impact of the grant. The presentation should also highlight how the organization’s mission aligns with the Legacy Foundation’s mission. Evaluation criteria include the clarity and professionalism of the presentation, alignment with the foundation’s goals, and the potential impact of the grant on the organization.
Awardees will be notified by February 21, 2025. A final report detailing how the funds were used, including a budget and the grant’s impact on the organization, is required within one year of receiving the award. Any unused funds must be returned to the Legacy Foundation. Organizations interested in applying can find more information and access the application portal on the Legacy Foundation’s website.
