The Tama County Community Foundation provides grant funding to charitable organizations that address local needs and improve the quality of life for residents. Since 2005, the Foundation has awarded $2.6 million in grants, including $164,618 in 2023, and manages total assets of $3.4 million to support these initiatives.

Grants are open to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and government entities. Tax-exempt organizations with other classifications may also apply if their projects are deemed charitable; these applicants must consult with the Foundation before submitting proposals. Applications for the current cycle are accepted from November 15 to January 15, with awards announced in March. A volunteer committee comprised of community members reviews all applications and selects projects based on their potential impact on Tama County.

Applicants must either register or log in to the system to find the appropriate grant and begin the application. Progress can be saved and resumed later.
