IUSCCC “Near-Miss” NIH R01 Initiative
This funding opportunity provides financial support to cancer researchers at the IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center whose NIH grant applications were close to being funded but fell short of the payline.
Description
The IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center (IUSCCC) offers funding for cancer-focused Principal Investigator (PI)-directed applications that have been reviewed once by the NIH and missed the funding payline. This initiative aims to increase the cancer-focused NIH funding base at the IUSCCC. Applications must have significant cancer relevance, and the initiative is open to Full & Associate Level IUSCCC Members. Applicants can receive up to $50K for R01, R42, and R44 grants, with P01 and SPORE amounts assessed individually. Submissions are on a rolling basis, with a requirement to submit a draft cover letter for approval before full application submission.
