Description
The CAFO Enhanced Nutrient and Methane Management Program, managed by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, supports CAFO-permitted farmers in implementing projects that enhance manure management systems to sequester carbon and conserve manure nutrients. The program also advances precision feed management to balance nutrients and reduce methane emissions. The first round offers $14 million in funding, with a second round providing $7 million. Eligible applicants are Soil and Water Conservation Districts working with CAFO-permitted farmers. The proposal deadline is October 28, 2024, with awards announced in December 2024.
