Accountability Pathways
This program provides financial support to Colorado schools and local educational agencies that are struggling academically, helping them develop and implement improvement plans to enhance student performance.
Description
The Accountability Pathways program is specifically designed to assist Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) and schools in Colorado with planning and implementing statutory options or pathways for schools and LEAs that are persistently underperforming. This initiative aims to support those entities that are on the verge of concluding their Accountability Clock period, helping them to explore viable pathways, engage in thoughtful action, and prepare for discussions with the State Board of Education. Additionally, for schools or LEAs directed by the state board to take specific actions, the grant facilitates the implementation of approved pathway plans. Eligible applicants include schools in Years 4 or 5 of Priority Improvement or Turnaround status and LEAs in similar conditions. The program encourages early application (Year 4) to maximize preparation for potential Year 5 board hearings. Funding, up to $100,000 per school and up to $400,000 for LEAs managing multiple schools or the LEA itself, supports various activities including consulting, technical assistance, diagnostic reviews, community engagement efforts, and other related activities to ensure effective pathway plan design and implementation.
